Dr. Mostak Hossain was born at Rajbari, Bangladesh on 7th May, 1962. He obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) and M.Sc. in physics in 1984 and 1987 respectively from the Department of Physics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He started his career as a lecturer in Physics in the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka in August 1988. He received his M. Phil degree in Physics from the Department of Physics, BUET, Dhaka, Bangladesh in the year 1995. He became Assistant Professor in 1995, Associate Professor in 2004 and Professor in 2009. He obtained his Ph. D. degree from Alagappa University, India in 2000 in the field of Crystal growth. His present research interest is Crystal growth processes.
He has supervised 1 M. Sc. and 1 M. Phil. students.
